Patryssenvalleij Farm & Cottages Booking Terms

1. Booking and Payment

A booking is only confirmed once a deposit is received as specified at the time of reservation.

Full payment is required 7 days before your check-in date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

All prices include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

Accepted payment methods: secure payment link via Peach Payments, credit card, bank transfer, or other options provided by management.

Bookings made via third-party platforms (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com) are subject to their payment and service conditions in addition to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Check-in and Check-out

Check-in: From 14:00 on the day of arrival.
Check-out: By 10:00 on the day of departure.
A valid photo ID may be requested upon check-in.

3. Cancellation and No-Show Policy

7 days or more before arrival: Full refund.
Less than 7 days before arrival: 50% of the total booking will be charged.
No-shows or early departures: No refund will be issued.
For group or special event bookings, stricter cancellation terms may apply and will be communicated at the time of booking.

4. Guest Responsibilities

Only registered guests are permitted to stay overnight in the cottages.
Quiet hours must be respected: noise kept to a minimum between 22:00 and 07:00.
Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors.
Cottages must be kept in a reasonable condition during your stay.
Waste must be disposed of in the designated bins provided.
Maximum occupancy limits as specified at booking must be adhered to.

5. Farm Safety and Risk Disclaimer

Patryssenvalleij is a working fruit farm. There are inherent risks associated with farm activities, machinery, orchards, dams, uneven ground, and vehicles.

Guests enter and move about the property entirely at their own risk.

Children must always be supervised by a responsible adult, particularly near farm machinery, orchards, dams, irrigation areas, and farm roads.

Restricted areas (sheds, machinery zones, staff areas, storage areas, operational orchards, and any area marked Private or No Entry) are strictly off-limits unless accompanied by farm staff.

Guests may not interfere with farm operations, workers, equipment, or harvesting activities.

The owners, management, and staff shall not be held liable for injury, illness, loss, or damage to persons or property, except where gross negligence is proven.

6. Use of Facilities

Dam and Water Areas

Use of the dam or any water area is entirely at your own risk.
No lifeguard is on duty.
Children must be supervised at all times near water.
Diving, swimming at night, and unsafe water activities are not permitted.

Braai / BBQ Facilities

Fires must never be left unattended and must be fully extinguished before leaving.
Fires may only be made in designated braai areas.
Guests are responsible for preventing veld, bush, or orchard fires.

Fruit Farm Rules

No fruit may be picked, removed, or damaged without permission from management.
Unauthorised harvesting or entering orchards may result in additional charges or termination of stay without refund.
Guests must respect farm workers, equipment, and farming operations at all times.

Wi-Fi Usage

Wi-Fi is provided for reasonable personal use only.
Illegal downloads or activities that breach South African law are strictly prohibited.

7. Cleaning and Housekeeping

Patryssenvalleij operates as self-catering accommodation. Guests are expected to maintain a reasonable level of cleanliness during their stay.

Daily cleaning service is complimentary. To request cleaning, hang the "Cleaning Service Please" sign on your door.
Towels are replaced every third day for longer stays.
Linen is changed once per week for longer stays.
Cleaning will only take place when the cottage is vacant, unless otherwise arranged.
Excessive cleaning required upon departure will incur an additional fee.

8. Deposits and Damage Policy

Guests are financially responsible for any damage to property, furniture, appliances, or facilities caused during their stay.

Management reserves the right to recover the costs of repairs, replacements, or excessive cleaning from the guest's payment method where permitted by law.

9. Pets

Pets are strictly prohibited on the property under all circumstances.

Guests who bring pets onto the property may be asked to vacate immediately without refund.

10. Child Policy

Children of all ages are welcome at Patryssenvalleij Farm & Cottages.

Infants (0–2 years): Infants staying in a Patryssenvalleij camping cot stay free of charge.
Camping Cot: One complimentary Patryssenvalleij camping cot is available per booking, subject to availability and prior arrangement with management.
Children Occupying Beds: Any child occupying a bed, including children sharing a room or bed with parents or guardians, will be charged the full applicable guest rate.
Children Aged 3 Years and Older: Children aged 3 years and older are regarded as paying guests and must be included in the total number of guests when making a reservation.
Supervision: Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. Due to the working farm environment, children must be closely supervised near dams, orchards, farm roads, machinery, irrigation areas, walking trails, and all other potentially hazardous areas.

11. Liability Disclaimer

Guests use the property, facilities, farm roads, walking trails, dam, parking areas, and all amenities entirely at their own risk.

The owners and management are not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings, including vehicles parked on the premises.

Patryssenvalleij shall not be held responsible for accidents, injuries, power outages, water shortages, natural events, or circumstances beyond its control.

Guests are strongly advised to obtain appropriate travel insurance.

12. Force Majeure

Patryssenvalleij shall not be held liable for cancellations, delays, or changes resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes or labour disputes, power outages (including load-shedding), and water or municipal service disruptions.

In such circumstances, bookings may be rescheduled or refunded at the discretion of management.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

Guest information is collected solely for booking, operational management, and legal purposes.

Patryssenvalleij complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Information will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.

14. Right of Admission

Management reserves the right of admission and may terminate a stay without refund if guests engage in illegal activities, disturb other guests or neighbours, damage property, or breach these Terms and Conditions.

15. Parking Disclaimer

Complimentary parking is provided for guests.

Vehicles and their contents are parked entirely at the owner's risk. Patryssenvalleij accepts no responsibility for theft or damage.

16. Walking Trails and Farm Roads

Guests may use walking trails and farm roads at their own risk.

Farm vehicles, tractors, and workers may be active at any time.

No walking is permitted in restricted or operational farm areas.

Proper footwear is recommended when walking on the farm.

Patryssenvalleij accepts no liability for injuries sustained while using the walking trails or elsewhere on the property.

17. Updates to Terms

These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time without prior notice. The version in effect at the time of booking shall apply to the reservation.
